(This is still a work in progress, but feel free to check it out while I’m tweaking!)

To calculate the total cubic yardage you require, please fill out the information below.

Step 1: Calculate your square footage: (in feet)

Length:

Width:

Total Square Footage:

Step 2: Enter the depth you would like the mulch or soil: (depth in inches)*

Total Product Needed in Cubic Yards:**

**Total will most likely not be shown in a whole number. Simply round up or down depending on your circumstances.**

*Recommended depth for mulch is 2 inches.*

Measuring is important. You need to determine the length and width of the area you want to cover, plus how many inches deep you’d like the material to be.

Once you have your measurements, you can figure out how much you need by using the following formula.

Length (in feet) x Width (in feet) = your square footage

Total Square Feet ÷ 12 x Depth (in inches) = total cubic feet

Total Cubic Feet ÷ 27 = Cubic Yards

Simply stated: L’ x W’ ÷ 12 x D” ÷ 27 = Cubic Yards

How much river rock would I need for 227ft (L) x 8in (W) x 1in (D)? How much would it cost with delivery to Bay Village?

  2. therockpile says:

You would need approximately 10 bags (1/2 cubic foot each) of River Gravel. The bags are $3.99 each. This would be something that you could pick up yourself rather than paying a delivery fee. Let me know if you have any other questions!
