  1. When can I transfer tulip bulbs. etc. from starter containers?

  2. Regarding transferring bulbs, you want to allow the foliage to yellow up, showing that the bulb is dormant, and then you can plant it wherever you’d like.

Here’s a short video discussing that very thing: http://www.therockpile.com/2010/03/30/the-art-of-gardening-april-1st/

    Thanks!

  3. I planted a ton of bulbs at the end of the season last year. Do I need to fertilize them in anyway? Not many of them have come up yet and those that have are not looking very healthy.

  4. You do want to fertilize your bulbs in the fall and in the spring. If you have tulips, the best practice is to dig those up when they go dormant (when their foliage has turned yellow) and then replant (with fertilizer) in the fall and again in the spring.
